Visited the town 15 years ago, return visit was a let down . Depressing, miserable place , desperately in need of a makeover. Highlight had to be a gentleman asleep in the public toilets after having a clearly enthusiastic early morning beverage. Rubbish shops, exhausted...More

Visited Torquay for the first time last week. Great place! Plenty of shops and eating places. Takes a few hours to get used to the town's layout / one way systems, but after that it is plain sailing. Harbour is quaint and nice to watch...More

We got the ferry from Brixham (which we really liked). Not sure what we were expecting of Torquay, but it was definitely more than we found. Lots of charity shops, closed hotels/shops. Apart from the waterfront everything just seemed very tired and un-loved. Got the...More

Nearly all the public toilets have been shut down. The distance between the only 3 left, is ridiculous, why cannot the council put in portaloos, until the drainage problem is solved? The toilets near the sea world cost 30p. The same applies to Brixham.

We came to Torquay 30 years ago and then it was a cracking place. But after our visit this year we could see the standards have dropped considerably. The pavillion is closed and boarded up, there are other closed and run down buildings especially in...More
