Worth the walk plenty of parking space and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the views over Torbay looking towards Paignton

We arrived at 9am at the recommendation of our b&b. The short drive was worthwhile with limited free parking available on the roadside. The views were stunning across To eBay, due to COVID there were 7 cruise liners in the bay. There are lots of benches which are in good repair from the road to the coastal path. Worth sitting and letting the world go by for a few minutes, very quiet. The houses facing the rock are also impressive.

Beautiful scenery, worth a short visit if passing through Torquay. Nice views out to sea and across the coast, there is a few potentially treacherous paths down to the secluded beaches. However not sure how long the tide may stay out for

Lovely place - can park at the top of the green and walk down to Thatcher point. Lots of benches on the green but was a very rainy day so wet and muddy. Short 5 minute walk along the green to look out to Thatcher Point. Amazing views. Looked like you could walk further along the seafront on the green.

You can enjoy a small part of the South Coastal Path by leaving eastwards up the hill from the Marina and past the Aviary, following the well signposted pathway overlooking the sea. The path passes some of the more expensive hotels and houses in the area, along the seafront and near a convenient coffee, and always in the distance one can catch glimpses of the outcrop known as Thatcher's Rock. Not sure of the provenance of the name but as you continue it becomes more imposing and eventually it will be right in front of you, just out to sea, very imposing and quite photogenic. Continuing takes you to even more outstanding views and even a long look along the Jurassic Coast to Weymouth and Portland Bill before arriving in Babbacombe for a long cool drink at the cafe in the park or in one of the local pubs.

Beautiful walk along the south west coast path from Torquay. Up and down steps and along uneven path that can get slippery in the rain. Great views along this stretch of coast.
You need good footwear for this walk, not flip flops. Take a camera too.
Only disappointment is the rubbish dog excrement left and discarded used toilet paper.
Why are people so selfish.

It’s says it’s a rock, that’s what it is. Photogenic. Why do people expect? Fraggles?

Interesting shapes from different angles if you walk the coast path

it's a lovely area to walk, take photos, picnic and relax.....but PLEASE take your rubbish and dog mess home with you or use the local bins! it's a breathtaking view across the bay towards Weymouth and Brixham.

Parking is very restricted and best using the mobile app. Station is OK but tucked away by the Grand hotel

As part of our tour of the English Riviera Global Geopark we visited Thatcher Rock so named as it appears to have a thatcher thatching! Standing on a headland and looking out across the channel to the rock one can imagine early visitors seeing and experiencing the view.
