The Plymouth Naval Memorial commemorates 7,251 sailors of the First World War and 15,933 of the Second World War. The Memorial is situated centrally on The Hoe which looks directly towards Plymouth Sound. It is accessible at all times. Copies of the Memorial Register are kept at the Tourist Information Office at Island House, 9 The Barbican, Plymouth, PL1 2LS, and also in the Naval Historical Section at Plymouth Library.

Put review under Plymouth hoe attraction, so will not repeat myself, other than to say this memorial is a must visit if you have a few days visit to Plymouth.

Humble. Reflective. Respectful. These were the feelings when I visited this memorial. I felt rewarded that I took time to read just a few hundred of the 20,000+ names of those lost at sea, recorded here.

This year was chosen to display the "cloud " of Memorial ceramic Poppies , I think ex Tower of London , but may be wrong on that Catch it if you can , with a porta cabin supporting it with information this year.

The Memorial on the Hoe is a very special and unique place. The Poppy Roadshow was visiting when we were there and this certainly enhanced the experience.
