Beautiful, varied gardens. We visited in mid May and the azaleas were stunning. The train ride was quaint and it was a good way of getting an overview of the gardens before walking round. My favourite parts were the Fernery and the Stream Garden near...More

Very good botanical garden with excellent tree specimens, some of them champion trees. Large collection of pines in particular. Attractive small glasshouses next to the orangery which houses the cafe (good coffee and excellent gluten free chocolate brownie). Outside seating here is particularly attractive with...More

Only poor due to cost! Would be good otherwise. An expensive visit for two adults, a two year old and a baby. Tickets cost £30.90. Beautiful gardens( although smaller than expected) , reasonable children's play area (public parks can be of comparable standard) a soft...More

We had a lovely visit even if the sun wasn't kind. Busy cafe serving really good cakes and sandwiches. The woodland railway ride was really good and the museum was very interesting. Great gift shop too that wasn't over priced.

Teenagers would find this place very boring. They focus mainly on families with young children and reasonably fit older people.
