We were a bit disappointed to travel an hour to Blackpool Sands, to find there is no sand! Many websites state that this is a sandy beach, but actually it is shingle. It is hard to walk on so we couldn't have a nice stroll along the beach, and there are no sandcastles to be made. The water was also... More

Gritty beach with great views of blue sea. Previously, dogs aren't allowed on the beach during high season. Good cafe

Been here tons of times in all seasons. Dramatic in winter - stunning in spring/summer. Probably one of south Devon's most beautiful beaches. Public loos. Brilliant Venus Cafe - don't believe both are open all year round. High season you have to pay for parking.

The Venus Cafe is situated on the beautiful beach of Blackpool Sands. Friendly staff serving breakfasts, lunches, cream teas and delicious cakes. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

This is a beautiful area - the beach is managed and parking is paid for. However there are facilities available along with a shop and a cafe.

A very nice shingle beach with gorgeous background of black cliffs and trees. A very nice cafe. We visited on a sunny Sunday in April, not crowded at all.
