Located below Tintagel Castle, the birthplace of King Arthur, this cave is believed to be where Merlin lived. The caves are accessible from a footpath, but fill with water at high tide.

Three words - a must see! lovely walk down to the beach area although not great if you have walking difficulties as it is quite steep. You can pick up some lovely unusual rocks as well when the tide goes out.

Overall, it is just a tunnel under part of Tintagel island. It's nice to imagine Merlin there and it's worth going in to say you've done it. The beach is lovely and the fresh-water waterfall into the ocean is beautiful. If you want to go...More

One could imagine the wise wizard conjuring in his seaside cave. The cove has waters of great beauty and the cliff side cable ruins are magical. It was a treat to visit here.

This is on the beach under Tintagel Castle so you can have a good day out and see both. Really good for adding a bit of reality to the legend.

It's a decent size for a cave and well worth the visit. Best to go in off season
