Located at the top of Barnoon Hill this old cemetery has some head stones dating back to the mid 18th Century. Some detail the marine history of St. Ives by " lost at sea" and "a maritimer ". The graveyard itself is like many in the UK, not well maintained. Beautiful view of Porthmeor Beach.

on a fairly steep hill this graveyard has some amazing views. The two connected little churches are generally closed but you can walk around everywhere - it is right next to probably the best beach and a car park in St Ives so you are likely to pass it.

We have a personal interest in this cemetery because it was one of my late sister's favourite places in Cornwall. Very steep to walk up or down from the beach but if you like to wander round cemeteries the names and stories on the gravestones are very interesting.

A lovely spot on the headland between bays. Worth a walk and wander. Close to The Tate so an easy detour along the way.

Barnoon Cemetary, undeveloped in this busy little town, contains all of the natural textures which made me fall in love with Cornwall forty years ago. All around it are newly refurbished slate and concreted, tarmac coated, planes and surfaces smoothed into clean modernity, and naturally devoid of visible life-forms. Barnoon remains a rare piece of Cornish ecology, with its' tiny... More

I came here with my daughter & great grand daughter on a Ghost Walk last year which finished up here. We couldn't see very much as it was about 9.30pm at night & it was dark, added to which, the leader of the Ghost Walk was telling some pretty hair raising stories about goings on there over the centuries. I... More
