This hill on a promontory overlooks the sea and St Ives providing fabulous views. It is also a good spot to let your dog stretch its legs.

Great views of the water, town, and countryside, with a nice old chapel (not open) and a local maritime safety facility in an old coast artillery installation. What I really liked is that they had stairs and a path down to the rocks in some...More

But worth the effort. The path around the island gave a fabulous selection of views. Rocky out crops next to beautiful beaches the view was stunning and varied all within a short walk (or roll).

This is a great place for an early morning or late evening walk as the sunrise/sunset views are wonderful.

We walked up to the little chapel, but it was unfortunately shut, regardless it was a beautiful walk and very scenic views of one of the most beautiful places I know. It's a trudge but worth it.

I was intrigued by the little chapel on the hill so had a walk up to have a look. It's so small and was very interesting to read the history behind it. If you're in the area have a walk up, the views from the...More

We took a walk around the island and were treated to absolutely gorgeous views of the windswept landscape. We hiked up to the little chapel on the hill and the views were best from this vantage point.

A lovely headland, great for escaping the masses in the winding St Ives streets. There are views to the north and east with sheltered benches, great for lunch if you can escape the gulls, and bracing walks to the chapel or round the headland. Very...More

When visiting St Ives, as we do a couple of times a year, one of our many favourite things to do is walk round the Island. The tiny chapel up on the top is well worth the climb, there was a lady explaining all about...More

Behind the harbour and quaint houses is this lovely walk, where you can get some space from the crowds. There is a pretty little chapel (not open when we visited) and views all round from this lovely vantage point at the top. A gentle but...More

Is The Island accessible by wheelchair? I'm getting married in St Ives in October and the plan was to have some photos up at the top in front of the chapel, but one member of my wedding party is in a wheelchair. From memory I think it would be quite difficult to push someone up there?

There is a wide tarmac path with regular benches leading up from the car park, it's not too steep that side either so it should be okay for trundler or wheelchair access.
