We’ve been on this beach on or around Summer for nearly 20 years. My kids think this is “the seaside” and love it still. For very young kids then Porthwiggen is probably better but very much smaller. Love St Ives and love this beach.

Porthmeor West for Pizzas and drinks, The main Porthmeor beach Cafe with great food and views. The beach gets good surf and there is an awesome surf school there with a fantastic team of surf coaches. Highly recommend.

Real tourist sands onto the warm Atlantic drift. Lots of deck chairs. Even floats to go into the sea and dingies. Swimming and paddling great fun Coast guards .

There are a number of different beaches around the Island in St Ives. Porthmear can be viewed from Tate St Ives, with its golden sands, a pleasure to walk along, and even in November surfers out challenging the waves.
