We provide guided minibus tours of West Cornwall. They feature the most interesting and beautiful spots of the region and are a great way to learn more about this fascinating land.

With a maximum of 8 passengers, tours are intimate and itineraries depend on what you would like to see, what the weather is doing and how far you would like to walk. We typically squeeze in ancient monuments, mining works, a cup of coffee and coastal scenery before running out of time.

Open tours run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, last 4 hours, cost from £35 per person and leave from Penzance and St Ives.

Private tours start from £195. Call or email for details.

My husband and I had the pleasure of taking this tour with Russ a week ago today. He was skilled in all ways - incorporating the varied wishes of all tour members, driving the narrow lanes in a way that made us feel comfortable and confident and answering all of our questions in an engaging and knowledgeable way -from history,... My wife and I spent a day with Tim touring the churches, tin mines, pasty shops and countryside of Cornwall. What a fantastic, enjoyable, and entertaining mix of Geology, economics, politics, culinary science (see: what NEVER to put on a pasty, how to properly prepare and partake of cream tea), and folklore. Tim is proud to be from Cornwall, and... More

I arranged for this tour based on reviews and availability. They pick you up in the morning at Penzance train station and will drop you off at your hotel or another destination if it's along the route. Driver of a small van (~8 persons) is the tour guide and extremely knowledgeable on the history, topography and geology. At the beginning... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of traveling with Tim, our tour guide, on a half day tour of Western Cornwall. Tim created a sense of Western Cornwall, old and new, in a way that transported us back through the ages, bringing us to current times. His passion for, and knowledge of the area should not be missed as... More

Tim Hannigan guided us through the most amazing day of our two-week trip to England. We visited Cornwall to try to get a sense of where my great-grandfather came from at what once was among the world's thriving mining areas. In a private tour, Tim gave us the very big picture of civilization's development (he was a history major and... More

Our guide Tim really made this tour! History, geography, geology, myths, culture, cuisine...here was a true son of Kernow!! He passed on his knowledge with such zest and enthusiasm, it was easy to tell he loves his job! With a personality and voice perfect for story-telling he would veer easily from telling us about the dangers of the tin-mining industry... More

Driving around the Penwith peninsula in your own car is not for the faint of heart. So a four hour tour in a small van with a knowledgeable and funny guide is a great alternative. Tim started the tour by asking the seven of us what we had already seen and what we would like to see. So we had... More

I booked a tour with this company after reading the reviews on here and was not disappointed. In a small group of 8 people, Tim, our wonderful guide took us off the beaten track to places that we just would not have found by ourselves. It was lovely to see some of the more hidden 'treasures' around this area of... More

A tour without a clear itinerary may create some doubts, but the beauty of this was ensuring no-one on our tour returned to where they had already been! Tim, our excellent driver and guide, spoke to us the night before the tour to see where we had visited, and then arranged to collect us from our hotel near St Ives... More

We travelled with two young toddlers and decided to go off the beaten path opting for a half day trip with Western Discoveries. We had Tim who is a local and we were in a shuttle with an American couple. Tim is an amazing guide who is very knowledgeable about both the local geology, history, fauna and flora. Most importantly,... More
