- borntoholidayPrestonPreston, United Kingdom68 contributionsGreat beachGreat beach for dog walking but restrictions occur in April I think. Lots of rock pools for kids to play in. Stopped the parking on the beach as vehicles keep getting stuck. Little hole in the wall cafe was open an odd day. Bought a couple of coffees and a bacon and sausage bun which was cooked to perfection from little food hut on the headland walk. The owner used to live a few miles away from us.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 April 2023

Weather indifferent but a fabulous family time, beach walks, rock pooling, body boarding and paddle boarding. Absolutely can't fault it. - Pioneer516107403752 contributionsFamily friendly beachLovely beach, really clean and great for children. We parked in the car park next to the holiday park all day for a tenner. It was easy to find and had loads of spaces. The access to the beach was flat which was good and made for a stress free day. Toilet facilities were ok and the local cafes were great too. Fab day out. Oh and we loved the dog ban, would be good if it went on until end of September (rather than August 31) like some of the beaches in Cornwall.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 August 2023

Sand was clean and tidy, easy accessible. Little tea/coffee place built into the wall with deck chairs to hire. Plenty of walks around the area, would definitely recommendVisited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 February 2024

Lovely big beach, very clean with plenty of space to enjoy, even at busy times. Paid parking nearby and dog friendly at certain times too.

Great beach and the mermaid inn is great.beach is supposed to be dog free but there were lots running around off the lead.people come here because it's dog free so why do people come here with dogs when every other beach in Newquay is dog friendly.

We stayed here for a week and visited often. It’s a lovely clean sandy beach, with toilets close by, and a couple of little cafes and a hole in the wall drinks and ice cream kiosk on the beach, parking and access by car aren’t great but the buses are pretty regular, it’s lovely I hood to be back soon!

Lovely clean beach with stunning views. Depending on the tide it can be a short walk to the sea. The beach can be very busy on hot days between 10am-5pm. The water is clean and clear.

Stumbled across this beach on my first few days staying in Newquay. Tolcarne Beach opposite where we were staying is lovely too, but Porth Beach past Lusty Glaze Beach is a gem, felt vast with Tide out, cool cave's that felt magical 🧜🏼♀️ check out what I called the Gollum pool ( for those who have seen Lord of the Rings that is) lol 😍

It's the last day of our holiday tomorrow and so we will leave our accommodation in the morning. Are there any showers on porth beach to use at the end of the day, before we set off for home?

Are you allowed to have a small fire on the beach in the evening/night?

Yes my friends often have a small fire or a bbq on the beach once most people have gone home and not had a problem. Just be aware to remove any remains of the burnt material upon leaving and everyone should be happy. Enjoy!
Hi is there is this beach accessible for disabled people thank you

Yes very easy to get onto.
Where is the nearest car park (with a decent amount of space)? Some sites say it's litrally over the road from the beach while others say that this car park are for guests of the camp site only.

Its a general car park for all to use, it is owned and run by the campsite and you need to pay though

Does anyome know how to go about complaining about the amount of dog poo all over this beach? It’s always been our favourite family beach and go every year but we’ve been down this week and it’s absolutely covered in dog poo 😡😡 we was walking with our shoes off and several times nearly trod in it.

We certainly saw many dogs on the beach at Porth, I think that there are time restrictions, but they may only apply during school holidays. Linda and Trevor will be able to give more detail as they have a dog. Enjoy your stay, we certainly did!

There is a beach to the right of Porth Beach as you look out to sea, which you get to through the gap in the Island at low tide. I think there are steps at the far end. Are dogs allowed on this beach please? Or are they subject to same ban as Porth main beach.
