From the local Cornish coast to the dazzling beauty of the Tropical Reef, Newquay Blue Reef aquarium has an exciting world of underwater adventure waiting to be discovered. More than 40 innovative displays vividly bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, whilst regular feeding displays, rock-pool workshops and informative talks provide a fun and fascinating day out. Visitors can enjoy the closest of undersea encounters with amazing aquatic life including seahorses, giant octopus, pulsating Jellyfish and fierce Piranha. At the aquariums heart is a spectacular coral reef display housed within a 250,000 litre ocean tank - home to exotic tropical species like black tip reef sharks and Omiros the rescued loggerhead turtle. As well as hundreds of brightly-coloured reef fish and a huge Southern Stingray. Enjoy the sheer beauty of the display by taking a journey through its very own underwater tunnel, as well as through a number of viewing portholes, a floor to ceiling window and even enjoy close encounters from the surface - where Omiros often likes to pop up to say hello! Situated on Towan Promenade in the heart of Newquay, Blue Reef Aquarium not only offers a beach on its doorstep but also an amazing experience, whatever the weather!

Took our 7 month old along and he was awestruck from the moment we arrived. The walkthrough aquarium is brilliant, as you get to see the fish from all angles. Feed times are regular, and with the beach on the doorstep there is lots to...More

I went for a visit to this attraction on a Sunday in the early afternoon. It was very quiet apart from the squeals of some the visiting children. There did not seem to be much change from my last visit. I enjoyed what I saw,...More

This is a small aquarium and it's great to go there on a wet day! It's small and relies heavily on tourism but could do with improvements! It wouldn't stop me going there again though! Toilets weren't great and were used by beach goers.

Small low key aquarium with some interesting exhibits but nothing spectacular. Cafe and shop on site .Better for small children and OK on a wet day for adults. Most interesting exhibit is large tank with walk under glass tunnel. Good home to blind turtle.

Not worth the £20 we paid. You could walk around it in about 20 minitutes. Our visit was so underwhelming, would not visit again.

It's such a shame to give this aquarium a 3 star review. The aquarium itself is full of interesting things and has been set out well to ensure people keep moving along. Regarding the reviews on here about it being small and taking "10 mins"...More

Paid a visit during a showery downpour and was not disappointed. Although not the biggest sea life centres we have visited it was one of the best ones we've been to. An interesting mix of aquatic creatures and lots of talks/feeding sessions during the day....More

Not the biggest aquarium but still a fair bit to see. You can re-enter as many times as you wish during the day. Would certainly keep children entertained for a hour or so.

We visited this on the second week of September, the price was £29 odd for 2 adults and a child. I'm a wheelchair user and struggled to get to the location, not only is the parking so restricted near the site but there is no...More

Looking at the location of your hotel a bus ride in to the centre of Newquay and a 5 minute walk towards Towan beach. Sorry for the delay in answering. Kind regards Bob
