Fun for all the family

We open 2016 winter weekends from 5 November until 4 December 2016, then our Santa Trains (pre-booking is essential) and 2017 winter weekends 4 February until 2016 March 2017.

Everyone, young or old, loves a train ride and Lappa Valley Steam Railway offers three different railways experiences, with over three miles of track! Your journey begins with the mile-long trip, from Benny Halt Station, on a miniature steam locomotive taking you through the picturesque wooded valley to East Wheal Rose. Here you will find more railways, a fabulous wooded valley to explore with a boating lake, a path maze, crazy golf, play area, plus delicious food in the Whistle Stop Cafe and a gift shop packed with everything about trains and more. Lappa Valley is the ideal day out for a family, loads for the children to do all day and plenty to entertain mums, dads and grandparents too!

We decided to return to Lappa Valley with our 3 year old and our small dog and this time we also hired the station flat which can be hired directly through Lappa Valley or Sykes cottages. We had an amazing time. It's a well equipped flat with everything you will need to take small children on holiday. They have a... More

Worth a trip for a half day visit, but I think you would be hard pushed to spend all day here. You get a train from the main station to where the rest of the attractions are. There are a few different train journeys to choose from and hen you can enjoy a kayak around the small lake. Best for... More

We love lappa valley - the kids and hubbie enjoy the trains, I'm a fan of the boating lake and crazy golf always raises a laugh. The play areas are vast and keep the boys occupied for ages. The cafe serves amazing cakes, cream teas and a cracking hot chocolate in winter.

Really went to Lappa Valley too late in the day for our 3 yr old grandson and much older grandfather to explore all the trains and mining heritage on the site. After parking the car and paying for entry you have a 10 min train ride behind a small steam engine to the amusement park. Here there are more train... More

My Kids loved the whole day and the area is very big. You have a little Train tour to the area. There is Crazy Golf inside and so many other things to do. My Family loved it plus there is a cafe in there as well. It was a beautiful day for us.

The is a great half day out for under 10 year olds but also good for adults with an interest in steam railways and tin mines. On arrival at the car park there is a small playground area and shop to keep the children amused whilst waiting for the train. This is a narrow gauge railway that carried ore from... More

Lappa valley is a reasonable place to stay for a morning of afternoon the train ride up to the park is good but the 2 rides after that are pretty pointless even if your children like them you will feel a little short changed from your day out the second train takes you up to a play park where you... Thank you leaving us a review. Please rest assured that we take safety very seriously. The boating lake is a manned part of our attraction, the lake is man made and just a couple of feet deep, the canoes are flat bottomed making them incredibly difficult to turn over, and we have life bouys around the lake for added safety.... Took our one and three year old here for the day while on holiday to Cornwall and they loved it. You have to catch a steam train into the park itself so I recommend checking the train times so that you dont have to wait for half hour to get in. Once in the park there are lots of activities... It is great to read what a lovely visit you had with us. Trains do run every 40 minutes and more frequently during busy periods, so you should never have to wait too long! We hope you will visit us again on your next trip to Cornwall. More
