Absoloutely lovely to walk alone, especially when the sun is shining - and there's lots of stalls for an ice cream too! The river is also in a prime location, right by Grovesnor park and the city centre, making it well worth a visit
It's a lovely place just to walk along, visit one of the coffee shops restaurants or just an ice cream, go on a boat trip short or long, take a boat out if you feel brave, the park is just a short walk away,
in the summer months the riverside is absolutely gorgeous to come have a meal or even for a lovely walk, its connected to the park so you can really make a lovely afternoon visiting the park and the riverside area, they have an old style...More

Chester is a wonderful town for walking, in addition to walking the walls and canals, there is a beautiful trail along the river. There are also inexpensive 30 minute river tours available that will show you many of the lovely homes facing the river.
