We were advised not to walk the walls over the weekend as can get quite busy, so did it on a Monday, glad we did as it was very quiet, if you are into History then this is a must,

We have walked the walls many times and as they are well preserved does have a great sense of the past. The best parts are away from the restaurants as the 21st century smells from the extraction units aren't great.

This was a beautiful walk in the morning sun. We enjoyed looking into the towers and looking at the views. I did not have the Walls App but read each information board. It took less than hour as we are quick walkers.

You do not need to do the complete circuit. There are several places where you can enter or exit the wall. Great vantage point for photos.

This is the perfect way to take shortcuts through Chester, and you have the opportunity to experience the wonderful sights of the city at the same time. Passing Chester cathedral, and the River Dee, if you are in need of a stroll in Chester and...More

Well worth doing this easy 2 mile walk around the city. Passing under the Eastgate clock with views of the Rows, the race Course and the River Dee.

Walking the walls is a great way to feel the history of the city. The view of the city, river and town of Chester are spectacular. Love the clock tower. It wouldn't be a complete visit to Chester without walking the walls.

The walls are fairly accessible to all, but there are parts where they get fairly narrow and you may struggle with a wheelchair/pushchair. Definitely worth walking around on a nice sunny day to take in some of the amazing views of this very picturesque city.
