One part of the wall was being refurbished but otherwise we were able to get all the way round. The section from the weir through the cathedral to the water tower without doubt the most interesting part.

If you want to get fit walk the wall of Chester, well worth it, get some good views of the town and learn the history of Chester.Very enjoyable walk.

The walk is not very long, nor difficult, and it offers agreat way to see the old town ofChester and its sorroundings. Highly recommended for anyone visiting.

If you fancy a walk that takes you all around Chester with good views, including the cathederal, roman ruins & race course. This is a must. It's free, unlike York & good for dogs. Loads of entry points too

Sorry for the delay in replying. The wall is free and open at all times. No guided tour but plaques explaining local sights and information at various points along the wall. The castle keep is free to to look around.

Loads of car parks in the centre, Grosvenor Hotel car park entrance - 1 mins to walls. Law Courts / river area car parks - 1 mins to wall. Race course / Market area car parks (lots of them) - 1 mins to walks - hope this helps
