We visited Sark on a Sunday and unfortunately all the shops were closed. After finishing our carriage ride tour of the island we were standing around wondering what to do next when a lady came and opened a gift shop in the little square, otherwise...More

We've been to Sark on many occasions over the years. The first time we visited, around 10 years ago, the island & The Avenue was something of a novelty. All the retail outlets were open for business but now many have closed & the buildings...More

Mixture of cafes, restaurants (lots closed down?), local crafts and local amenity stores. Worth a stroll. Very good silver smith.

Unfortunately, the shops aren't very attractive and appealing, but at least they are there! They do have a nice little jewelry shop and souvenir shop but yes, closed businesses are high in numbers. But really, you should blame the Barclay Brothers for this, not the...More

We were a bit disappointed with the shopping available on Sark. There wasn't much selection and very little with "Sark branding" in the souvenir line. The first time we walked the Avenue every single shop was closed, Monday morning around 10:00 a.m. The next few...More

Half of the businesses have closed down & one or two such as the charity shop were uninspiring! We felt a sadness in the air as we had seen The Avenue in The Parish TV programme & tourist publicity videos. Sark has seen better days...More

A lovely time to leisurely stroll the Avenue unfortunately some of the small shops are closed and empty which is a great shame but those that are there are all worth a browse.

While we were on a carriage ride we went down this row of shops so when we finished the ride, we just had to go back to see them. The Avenue has a variety of very small shops, and we loved The Post Office, which...More
