Beautiful home made soup with crispy croutons and roll. Partner had pie, mash and veg. Both very nice meals with good service. Feels a completely different environment than that of a Friday night.

Unpretentious, traditional and comfortable pub with a conservatory bathed in natural light and a beer garden. Vegan friendly Aspall cider is available but the main focus is on real ales which of course are normally fined.

Opposite the Hereward, and a lot quieter! Not too busy and not much of an atmosphere when we went in, Good enough choice of beers, and staff OK. Worth a visit

Friday night at the townhouse is busy - revellers, mostly young but welcoming to all. Out with friends for a dance. I ordered a pint of Aspalls cider which tasted off. My friend returned it and landlord replaced with a pint of IPA. Unfortunately this...More

Had Sunday lunch there today. Staff very friendly. Because of the weather we were able to eat outdoors. The food was very good and plentiful. Only downside was that roast beef was unavailable. Decided on pork and that was very satisfying. Huge Yorkshire pudding, definitely...More
