Unless you get into the college the bridge is only really visible form a boat. We did walk across it, and while you get nice river views, you don't get much of the bridge. So, a punting tour or rental it is.

Of course the best place to get a good view of the Bridge of Sighs is from the water, so a trip on a punt really is a must. The design and architechture is fantastic. Nothing like the modern concrete structures built to day, which...More

Most famous bridge for St Johns College! One of three famous bridges in Cambridge! Bridge of Sigh, Mathematical Bridge with Queens College, Cam bridge. Most of the people on our tour kept saying the one in Italy was better. I enjoyed it and so did...More

I was in Cambridge recently at the invitation of the University and decided to stay at St John's so I could have opportunity to see the Bridge of Sighs by night. The bridge is so impressive and I had seen it many times by day,...More

We drifted gently down river to the sounds of nature and to the glorious sights of a Cambridge past. A lovely time and well worth the money.

A visit to St John's College is a must for Cambridge but the entry fee of £10 for a short look around considering no Visitors are allowed on the bridge, perhaps a little much. The bridge can be seen from punts on the river.

We hadn’t realised that it was within St Johns College until my phone satnav kept suggesting we walk through walls and then went haywire! I eventually asked the porter at the gate, who explained we’d have to pay £20,I think,to gain entrance and view it. Only...More

Visited Cambridge at the height of the summer season which was not a good time to visit, far too many tourists and queues waiting to visit the usual historical sights. Beautiful city and the trip down the river on a punt was most enjoyable. Suggest...More

Nice bridge, yes, very photogenic but not really anything like the one in Venice! Good view from both sides of on a punting tour.

Very nice to see, especially when you're on a boat punting! combines st. johns college dorm rooms with the eating and study rooms.

Yes, there is a large WW2 American cemetery just to the north of Cambridge. Not easily walkable for the Bridge of Sighs. Bus or taxi
