“Smelly and worn down, but probably cheap”
The newest Cambridge College was founded in 1977 with its pleasing modern buildings built in red brick with balconies facing into a paved courtyard.

Probably as expected from pictures, except for strong unspecific smell. Might be something rotting/died combined with detergent?More

Further to your comments above, are you able to advise when you stayed and which number, so that we can look into please? The College is of a very high standard, so I was surprised by your comments, but would like to have the opportunity...More

Really disappointed with lunch this year. The food was bland and uninteresting and I really could not be bothered to eat either starter or main course. The cheese plate is simply awful, given the amazing British cheeses one can so easily get these days.

Great facilities. We had a conference, with over 300 delegates it was roomy and met the needs for all attending.

Do not expect traditional Cambridge halls and gargoyles at this brick built college. The entrance and walk through the college does not prepare you for the beauty of the gardens but you can buy a booklet at the porter's lodge which points to their best...More

Robinson is a newer red brick college situated in a quiet area but not far from the bustle of Cambridge centre. The rooms don't have a TV or hair dryer but they are clean & in good condition with tea & coffee making facilities. Wifi...More

Robinson is not one of Cambridge's ancient university colleges, having been built in the 1970s. It's on the far side of the river, about 15 minutes' walk from the historic centre of the city. For me, that made it perfect -- away from the roving...More

Few tourists make it to Robinson College, on the periphery of central Cambridge, but it has its attractions. The architecture is modern, and heavily based on red brick (with a tinge of blue). It's designed along the lines of a mediaeval castle, so you enter...More

Let's face it the people who stay in Robinson's College are either tourists or, like myself, attending a meeting or conference. My venue was elsewhere but walkable from Robinson. The staff are incredibly polite, courteous and efficient and the building and gardens are very pleasant....More
