Grantchester has something for everyone all year round. The pubs are quaint and serve good food. The Orchard Tea room is lovely in the summer. The Grantchester meadows are perfect for a weekend stroll. And the Boxing Day Barrel race is a must!

Walking from Cambridge (Newnham area) through Granchester Meadows is a lovely walk at any time of the year. Other walks are available = park on the Coton Road and use the signed walk through to Haslingfield

During a recent stay in central Cambridge we walked along Granchester meadows to Granchester one morning in the lovely winter sunshine. It was a lovely crisp frosty morning. A beautiful walk (approx 2.5 miles) we visited the church and a lovely pub for a drink (mulled wine for me Coffee for my Husband). The pub called the Green Man was... More

In the village the green man pub was ready with outdoor beer and mulled wine. The orchard tea rooms was doing brisk business as if it was a summers day and the modern Rupert Brooke pub and kitchen was quite... Met a friend in Grantchester after Googling a place midway between our homes, we will certainly be visiting again in more clement weather. We lunched in the pub The Rupert Brooke, the staff were really friendly and the food was lovely. The village is very pretty and despite the wet weather we managed to walk both round the village and... More

If visiting Cambridge, nearby is the little village of Grantchester. The Church in this village was used in the TV English series of Grantchester. It is a nice place to stop for the Tea-rooms and Church. There is little else here, but a pleasant break on a nice sunny day. You can walk here from Cambridge or drive.

One can understand why Bertrand Russell loved the walk. Beautiful countryside and a Nice cup of tea and a scone before you return. Something with paradise...

Left the Lord Byron Motel in the suburbs of Cambridge and walked to Cambridge via Grantchester. Loved the day in the fresh air after an extensive tour of Europe in a bus. The village is delightful and we haven't seen the TV show but it is on our to do list. Coffee at the Red Lion then a visit to... More

We took the long walk through scenic fields from Cambridge to Grantchester. There we saw the little church and cemetery seen in the wonderful tv show. Afterwards we drank coffee at one of the lovely pubs and headed back for the return hike. Nice afternoon.
