We visited the Heong Gallery to visit the 'Do I Have to Draw You a Picture' exhibition. It is an excellent space and the exhibition was excellent. It is also a good excuse to have a look at Downing College buildings. There is also the...More

We were told that we could walk through the grounds to the Fitzwilliam Museum - but found the exit locked. Not really a great disappointment; the grounds were lovely and gave a small indication of what was to come - what Cambridge is...

We stayed in modern, well equipped rooms in Battcock Lodge, which were spacious for city centre accommodation. The main benefit was being able to take advantage of the peace and quiet of the grounds, whilst being so close to the city centre. Breakfast was served...More

When I visited Cambridge most students were sitting exams, or were about to, so were still in residence. Hence most of the colleges were strictly off-limit to visitors. An exception was Downing College, where we were able to wander around freely, admiring the Georgian architecture...More

This is the only Cambridge college where I've actually stayed, and it is a fabulous experience. The grounds are manicured, and the architecture is on a grandiose scale.

Amazing exhibition. Beautiful exhibition space. Very friendly staff. Really clever colourful paintings. Fun titles for each portrait - artist clearly has a sense of humour. I’ve been back to see it twice.
