We visited the Fitzwilliam this week, with a 6 year old and a 3 year old, as we were visiting the area. We really wish we hadn't bothered. From the moment you get through the door, you are watched like you're planning on doing something terrible to one of the artefacts on display. I was asked to check my bag,... More

The fitzwilliam is always worth an hour's enriching wander and wonder. With thousands of special objects from whichever era takes your fancy. Great cafe and shop for that special gift too. Perfect. You can park up down at the double tree hotel around the back - and take lunch there or lion yard multi storey- only a step away or... More

A huge - and free - museum. We spent hours investigating the multitude of interesting items from around the world. Many unusual facts and features makes this a free wonder for all ages. Excellent facilities. Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn and enjoy at the same time.

Spent an hour here, quite easily Been several given the choice and selection of art on display. Particular appeal was artists such as Monet, Picasso, van gogh, Matisse, cezanne, all on display which is breath taking. Strong displays of Spanish, Italian & Dutch art which provided a strong presentation. Recommended.

Great museum with wide range of displays and collection. If your interests are in theology and religion, then a well thought out display of Madonnas and Miracles will serve you well.

If you like museums, this is a place you must visit when you are in Cambridge. Has wide range of displays, not to mention the building itself is quite beautiful.

'Madonnas and miracles' a superb exhibition. Interesting fact put together in an inspirational way which didn't bore in any way. Whilst sticking to the original theme, every room was ever so slightly different in the way it approached the topics. Most enjoyalable! One can never walk through various rooms without peeking at some nice exhibits even if one goes there... More

A great collection. Love the entrance specially the mosaic tiles and super detailed stained glass windows. I took my time and spent 4 hours but only managed to see half of what was on offer. There is a cafe within the museum. Great place to reenergise.

This was a group visit and so we had relatively limited time. After a light lunch in the excellent and very efficiently run cafe we were given a brilliant, whistlestop tour by Chris Skilton, he was extremely knowledgeable and a first class guide. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. I shall return at a later date.
