You can visit and sometimes partake in harbour cruises on The Matthew - a replica of the caravel sailed by John Cabot in 1497 from Bristol to North America, thereby beating Columbus to the North American mainland at Newfoundland!

Pleasant trip round the harbour in interesting replica of the boat that 'discovered' Canada. Note that you use an engine to go round and it doesn't have any sails.

Moored on the waterfront not too far from S S Great Britain you will find the Matthew, a replica of the ship in which John Cabot (real name Giovanni Caboto) sailed the Atlantic to find the "new world". How brave they were!

If you're just looking around, 10-15 minutes would be plenty. A trip is a different matter. I doubt there are toilets on board as there were no such amenities in the time of the original Matthew! You could use the ones at... More
