Like any building of its age there have been changes over the years, but when you step inside and take in the ornate tombs of Bristol Mayors dating back to 1580, the richness of the history here unfolds itself. Utterly unique and beautifully maintained.

Sitting on College Green in the centre of Bristol, the Lord Mayor's Chapel is where the great and the good of the city are interred, going back 800 years. Marble statues and plaques commemorating all those mayors. If a new mayor were to die, they...More

This is simply the most beautiful interior space in Bristol. It's usually closed, so, if it's open, go in. My only complaint is how insensitive the interpretation is - everything, and I mean everything, has a laminated white label on it. Instead, there should be...More

Another site that should be on everyone's must-see list of places to visit in Bristol. With an impressive black wood gilded ceiling and items rescued from Temple Church, it is a place to admire.

Not only is the place superb, it is also said to be the only town owned church in the UK. Most Saturdays they have lovely free concerts at 1.15 on a Saturday
