I'm always surprised by how many people I don't see on my forays to the top of the warren. There are numerous tracks and paths to explore. So if you need to walk the dog, tire the kids out, go for a strenuous jog or a relaxing walk it's worth the effort just for the view from the top.

There are many open-ended walks at Dolebury. If coming from Bristol, Start either by pulling off the A38 at the old miners cottages on the left; or if you miss that it is signposted again left just up the hill, head for the carpark at the Star, although funnily enough I think the sign is mark 'Rowberrow Warren' at this... This offers a fantastic walk With caveats There are exhilarating views over Somerset from the top which is covered with the remains of an Iron Age hill fort ( and hence mystery) A good range of common and not so common wild flowers ( mullein etc) Peace and tranquility And You will need good walking boots and an ability to... As you would expect, it is an ancient Rabbit Warren.. I have never seen any rabbits there, but I suspect they still are if you are quiet and very patient. Parking is not easy but you will find a space if you are lucky and the climb is steep but worth it. You can of course come the other way... More

This is part of the mendips and you can walk for miles across fields and open moorland to the trig. But before you do climb the steep hill from the small parking space and at the top you will find one of many hill forts of the mendips.dog walkers beware of sheep here.

This is always a great place to walk throughout the year, with breathtaking views and clear air. The walk is certainly not boring, and there are lots of routes which vary. I would definetly recommend walking up here

Great walk, on-top of the world feeling, impressive Roman Fort ruins, views on a clear day. If it's a cold day, prepare to be frozen!

Walked here for the first time yesterday and loved it! It was great for our 2 dogs who were able to be off the lead and run around for the majority of the walk. There are normally livestock on the Warren but there weren't any yesterday so they were find running around. The views from the Hill Fort were amazing,... More
