Stunning bridge and excellent visitor centre

Drove across and then walked across the Bridge. Walking not great for vertigo but the views make it worthwhile. We really enjoyed the free visitor centre

This wonderful structure, with a very interesting history is amust on your visit to Bristol. In fact it is hard to miss, but do go a little nearer by going up to Clifton Village and along by the Avon Gorge Hotel. Better still have a drink on the terrace of the Hotel and truly enjoy the view of Bristol and... More

Just happened to be in the area so decided to go for walk over the bridge. So glad I did. Called in the visitors centre which is free and full of fascinating information. Everyone there was really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately never had time to take the free bridge tour, but will be going back soon. I would recommend this... More

Definitely a must see. Stunning views of Bristol and the Avon Gorge, and a lovely green area to sit and chill in at the clifton side. Definitely recommend having a beer afterwards at the Avon Gorge Hotel on the balcony in full view of the bridge. Loved it.

The bridge was a masterpiece of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The bridge itself was already very giant. The view of the Avon valley from the bridge was even more spectacular. What's more, it is totally free! A must see in Bristol.

Well worth visiting. Drive across (£1 toll) or better walk from Bristol along the water's edge, about an hour from town. Go to visitor centre and walk through woods on far side.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is a lovely bridge in itself. High above the water, or the mud depending on the state of the tide!! At the moment one tower is covered with white plastic for repairs. However there is a great view of the Gorge one way and the edge of Clifton and the Cumberland Basin the other. Parking is... More
