The site consists of an active archeological site (the oldest excavation site in China), with a very good museum explaining the site, and the best preserved full military relics of the Ming Great Wall built in the 15th century. We took a taxi to the Sanguankou part of the Great Wall, about an hour and a half from Yinchuan. There was nothing there except the wall, which is exactly what we wanted. We spent a few hours hiking along the wall & around the hills and enjoyed the solitude. It was a really amazing experience to be the only... More
