On a cold December day visiting local churches we found ourselves at this lovely tea room. Super menu and everything reasonably priced. We tried cheese and potato pie, sausage roll and frittata with 2 large filter coffees. £12.50ish and the coffees were enormous. Our food was fresh, well cooked and presented. A little underseasoned for our taste but there was... More

We walked here from Blore hall and we're going to stop for a tea, but before 12 we found out they do bacon naps. Which were very good and they did smaller portions for our 3 year old. Lovely views and worth a stop before continuing on your way. There are toilets and a NT shop.

Me and my wife would like to share our experience with all the Ilam park visitors, we visited few times with a group of friends and have had a great experience with excellent service, but not always..unfortunately few times it has been the opposite: slow, disappointing and unwelcome! This is why we decided to submit this review, and we would... More

On a very cold November day this National Trust tea room was a very warm and welcoming place. The staff were very pleasant, the selection of food was good and there were plenty of tables for everyone to have a comfortable amount of space. The building is old and has been adapted to its present use in a very sensible... More

Visited here late October on a Sunday morning just as it was starting to pick up. Lots of outside seats for a warm autumn morning and not many people inside. Good local fare and fairly friendly staff but the 'barista' was either new or struggling as he could in no way keep up with the orders and we waited the... More

Great NT owned property with a lovely garden, fantastic views across to the Thorpe Cloud and Dovedale with its "V" shaped valley. The Tea Room serves good coffee, tea, cakes and sandwiches. An excellent place to pop into if you're doing a long walk around this part of the peak district to take a breather and the weight off your... More

We stopped here towards the end of a 5.5 mile circular walk from Dovedale. It was lovely to sit outside in October with the beautiful views and the autumn colours. The oatcakes were delicious but the soup was bland.

Dry autumn days always feel like such a treat and are even better when enjoyed with some hot food and wonderful views. We're glad that you liked the oatcakes, but regret that you found the soup to be bland - we'll pass this feedback on to our team. More

Great coffee, caters for all. I was able to order coffee with soya milk, which is rare in small tea rooms. Thank you.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime - not too busy, rustic place in a truly beautiful setting.... the front door into the room has more charm than most modern places. It's part of the Ilam Hall YHA Estate - so, walker friendly etc. Menu was as 'rustic' as the surroundings - hearty 'Parsnip & Apple' soup with a big chunk of... More
