In the summer this park is filled with campers who come to enjoy the park, the extensive beaches and the safe swimming. But in winter entry is free, the park is empty and one can walk for miles along the sands, admiring the ice formations at the littoral. There is usually a breeze from the west and occasionally there are... More

Beaches are amazing! But packed in July and August... come visit them in June and September! A fall walk when the colors are changing on the trees is my favorite.

We were in the County on Sunday and we stopped to see the beach. Great time to visit absolutely not a soul in site and it was great. We took a walk along the shore and it was so peaceful compared to the summer when its so packed with people.

Get there early! Dunes beach for kids. West lake beach for all. The water is clearer and cleaner than the Caribbean. Don't forget to rent paddle boards, kayaks and canoes. Great camping too.

I love Ontario Provincial Parks in general, but Sandbanks, for us, is a day trip place. We've visited for a day here and there and prefer it this way, even though we love camping. We bring a cooler with food and stay for the day! The Dunes Trail walking trail is beautiful and interesting. Kids and adults alike will love... More

best beach i've been to in Ontario, hands down! lovely long stretches of sand, nestled near the dunes, which ware worth exploring, or the treed trails for a shady walk or hike. it can be a bit confusing to navigate, so it's worth asking a local for tips (our b&b hosts we're very helpful in this regard)!

We visited for the first time over labour day weekend this year. We were amazed at how beautiful the beaches and sand dunes are! I cannot believe I waited this long before visiting. You can lounge around or walk for miles through the sand and dunes. My feet hurt by the time we left, but I loved every minute of... More

40 plus years ago Sandbanks was called Outlet Provincial Park. Sandbanks was a named area accessible from Outlet Park. It was paradise back then, not even 1/4 the crowds they have now even on Dominion Day. Bringing your Hibachi and large canopies were not allowed on the beach as it is today. We took a day trip to this Sandbanks... More

The Park is ideal for hiking and climbing the dunes. it is a rather unique part of the world and definitely worth experiencing. It is much more than just a beach! There are some short 30-45 minute trails, from the parking areas. Windy for us in November so dress appropriately!

We visited Sandbanks for the first time. It is absolutely beautiful and not to be missed. Prince Edward county has lots to offer and Sandbanks is one great place to visit
