The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

We walked about 5kms of the trail north from Black Rock Resort. The trail keeps close to the ocean but make sure you take the "artist loop"s if you can. I think they may have stairs so wheel chairs and strollers may have to stay...More

Fabulous windy, misty day. Easy to moderate walk. Well maintained crushed gravel trail, with some steepish ups and downs. Incredible rainforest walk with west coast views and a few education stations sprinkled in. I love my wet coast.

There are several different entrance points and distance options for the trail. We did the area around the lighthouse and then further out of town to the bluffs and anciet cedar loop. Both easy walks and easy to get to. Wonderful scenery, rain or shine!

Hiked the trail for several hours in the rain this morning. It is well maintained and easy footing, even in the wet weather. The anciet cedars are awesome and the sealine rugged and wild with beaches if driftwood and clifts of jagged rock.

Did it for 7 days. Unbelievable journey, away from the busy city, emerge into the Beaty nature. Better to chose the dry period to avoid the mud.

Thinking your review is for the West Coast Trail as our Wild Pacific Trail is rarely muddy since it is a gravel path. Wonderful to hear that you were able to immerse yourself in nature.

I walked the wild Pacific trail recently and the views are simply incredible. The shore, the rocks, the trees - just incredible. Highly recommend the light house loop. Great exercise and beautiful nature.

I never get tired of walking the lighthouse loop of the Wild Pacific Trail. The trails are wide and easy to walk. There are look outs every few feet at times. The ocean gives us spectacular vistas on calm days, rainy days and stormy days....More

You bet! We have been there in the winter where we jut pop out on the trail to watch the pounding surf for 10 minutes. Other times we do longer loops. Enjoy!
