This is the highlight of our trips to the West coast. The kids absolutely love spending time with all the marine organisms in the touch tanks and big pool. They learn so much! Note that the aquarium is closed between Dec 1-Mar 1 when all...More

The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Enjoyed reading and seeing the different fishes, crustaceans, and such they collect for viewing. What really impressed us was they collected locally and returned back to the ocean.

This aquarium is unlike any I’ve ever seen; every year they catch local fish, etc, early in the year and then release everything in November. The aquarium staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and they have some exhibits where you can touch the fish, starfish,...More

Stopped by with family and 3 children. Kids had fun with the few small touch pools, though had questions about the creatures in them and there was no signage or explanation as to the animals. Kids had fun, good to explore for an hour or...More

We heard about the aquarium from some locals. Very proud of the eco friendly nature of their catch and release aquarium. Foggy morning in Ucluelet so thought we would visit the aquarium waiting for the fog to burn off. It’s a small place. Lots of...More

The displays are all local and are "catch and release". They return all the animals to the ocean before winter. Lots of interesting displays. They have some that you can touch gently. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. A great way to spend a rainy morning.

A small aquarium with a big appeal. Enthusiastic staff (presumably marine biologists given their knowledge of the subject), and the opportunity to touch (some) of the creatures made it a great experience for kids and adults. Look out for the octopus.

No pets allowed inside, unfortunately. Too easy for them to snag some fresh seafood from the open, low level aquariums.
