If you're fortunate to get a blue bird day the views are spectacular. take time for a quick stop at Joffre lakes Provincial park. For a 5 minute stroll you get an incredible view of a Lake Louise blue mountain lake. Well worth the effort....More

During our last trip to British Columbia in Sept. 2016, we found ourselves staying at Whistler and wanting to drive up to Sun Peaks. So, should we take the Duffy Lake Route to the North or loop around Vancouver. We took the Duffy and are...More

Duffy Lake, just East of Pemberton BC ( 1.5hr from Whistler) Great route for motorcycles and Corvettes. Road surface is very good. Scenery is breathtaking and very peaceful. This is a destination for photographers. The big mountains are west, so shooting them requires being here...More

Best when not so much traffic but hard to predict. Sometimes the unexpected happens... Like. Rockslide! But if you're lucky you can dip your toes in the creek while you wait. We have such amazing roads in BC. Best travelled with friends 😉

I prefer to take this road to the Okanagan because it is very scenic. There are some steep hills and many curves therefore you need to gear down otherwise your brakes will burn out. I have seen many campers at the end of the steep...More

It's scenic, but it's steep, curvy, hairpin turns and terribly slow way to go from Kamloops to Whistler. We had a huge van and our heart was in our mouths all the time.

This drive is very pretty with great views but take your time. Give yourself at least 2 hours. And go easy on the brakes and easy on the gas. Sharp turns and steep hills so brakes can overheat. Gear down when possible. Pull over and...More

Very little gravel. Just a couple of short stretches, bridges and culvert construction

One short stretch south of Lillooet is unpaved due to a new bridge going in, but otherwise totally paved.

Hi ALL past users of "Duffy Lake Road" Hwy 99! We are hiring a 32" RV (with 3 bikes on the back as well!!) in late June this year and have planned a route using this road. I have read all your comments (about braking and switchbacks!) and i did run it past the RV hire company to see if it was a "NO GO road" but they did not comment. I am experienced in driving large vehicles and have a PCV (Double Decker Passenger Bus Licence -UK) and drove 12 metre buses all over Brighton UK for 7 years, but these are different beasts and i have never driven one before! In all of your opinions... is this road SAFE and practical to drive with an RV of the length? (I am very considerate driver and will be contiually pulling over to allow faster vehicles to pass). I don't want to get half way along and get stuck! We have all day to get from Squamish to Lilliooet. Is that practical in this size RV? Thank you in advance for all of your helpful advice. Paul - Sussex, UK.
