We held a "Celebration of Life" for my sister-in-law on the premises. The staff were very helpful and took exceptionally good care of us. The celebration went very well as it offered venues for friends and family to get together and remember good times. The added attractions of the very well preserved boats and the proximity of the water were... More

A beautiful setting to see and learn about Muskoka lake boats, past and present. Activities for children, something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Hi TorontoTraveller506, Thank you so much for your review! We are glad you enjoyed our exhibits and inclusion of education for all ages. With your kind comments and high recommendation, we are interested to know what we could do better to get a 5 star rating from you, or if the 1 star is just a typo? Thanks so much... More

We spent a good hour here enjoying the exhibits and films. Wonderful that the local history is being honoured. The collection of wooden boats in the outside (covered) section is worth the price of admission.

It was all very interesting. Self guided tour and videos. The floating wood boats were the highlight but how they were made was very interesting. All of the exhibits were great. a must see if there.

What a great time cruising around lake Muskoka. A wonderful way to see the lake and learn about the local history; it is a narrated cruise. There is plenty of comfortable seating and a coffee shop on board which you will be so happy for on the colder fall days when out viewing the fabulous array of fall colours. I... More

We visited on 20th October, and we were the only people there. We had the whole museum to ourselves for 1 1/2 hours. The steamships were not operating, and the whole area had the ambience of a ghost town. The museum was well worth the CAD9 [Seniors] entry fee. The history of the Muskoka lakes was explained and illustrated in... More

I was staying at a hotel in Toronto and through a misbooking was stranded in Muskoka without any transportation. Ann was helpful enough to drive me to the bus station, waited until I was on my bus before she left, and she offered me some of her own lunch! I wish she would've accepted a tip for her amazing customer... More

This is a well put together museum. It is excellent for kids. They have got a great kids zone! The displays are very informative. Check it out! It is not too expensive either!
