If you are looking for a historical museum that has a bit of everything, this is the place for you. The main floor is an aquarium and Tidal touch area where you can learn about the species of fish and marine life that is found in the area, as well as the fisheries industry in Nova Scotia. The second Floor... More

Ralph Getson has a great picture of a previous time involving one of our structures. Pretty cool. Makes the past more appealing and approachable!

We loved Lunenburg - we loved its history and we loved how the people who live there today are managing it. It was therefore a no-brainer to go to their museum, and it didn't disappoint. There were three floors of exhibits telling the story of this community over the years. There are the static displays which include the history of... More

The museum is really worth a visit if you spend a day in Lunenburg as it gives a very good view of the life in the town and out at sea duirng the times of cod fishing as well as more recent lobsterfishing, not to mention the Bluenose story!

This is so much fun with young and old, as we did with friends and their children. It was so interesting that they had to take them again next day.

No matter what age you are you can appreciate the history and information displayed in the museum. Our 7 year old daugher loved climbing aboard an old fishing boat and learning about where the fishermen slept and ate and where they kept the fish in the hull of the boat. There is a touch tank in the museum, where you... More

We all enjoyed touring the ships (moored outside) as well as the indoor exhibits. Learned a lot about cod fishing from small dories (VERY dangerous!).

It is hard to imagine the difficult work and risk/dangers involved in dory fishing. The expression 'wooden ships and iron men' says it all! Thank you for posting your review. More

Thoroughly enjoyed this museum, including going on the ships tied up on the docks. We also attended a play put on in the evening.

It is great to hear that you enjoyed your visit. The museum vessels are definitely a fan favourite! And the Glimpses production in the theatre in the evening is also a very popular play enjoyed by many. Thank you for taking the time to post your review. More
