We happened upon this beautiful museum while looking for a picnic stop. Housed in a beautiful old mill, there are three packed floors of interesting local history, including early industrial pieces, items from early farmers, vintage clothing and many military-related items. Well worth a stop.

This is one of those old fashioned hodge podge museums, literally a bit of everything. I loved the wedding dress collection upstairs and the player piano on the main floor.

We were leaving Renfrew yesterday, Jul 6, and decided to drive by museums. since it was Monday, we were sure it is closed, but at least to see from out side. What a pleasant surprise we had, when we seen a sign open for visit. we came and this is the place worth of visiting. 3 floor of antiques and... More

We stopped here for 30 minutes on our drive from Ottawa to Algonquin. It only cost $2 each but there is so much in there, you could easily spend longer. The staff were friendly and the museum was relaxed - most things were out in the open rather than locked in a cabinet. There is a picnic area outside too.

My wife and I visited the museum after walking to the swinging bridge. It is full of pictures, WWI and WWII uniforms and other interesting memorabilia from the Renfrew area. The stairs are steep but worth climbing to get a look at life in Ontario!

A great place to go back in time. However my 5 yr old son was unable to go in different areas because of having to climb what felt like miles worth of stairs to experience the three floors of the museum. The swinging bridge was amazing and the views were spectacular! The manakins on the top floor are creepy though.

Step back in time and see the early days of Renfrew. The basement level contains old farmstead items like an old Findlay cookstove, farm equipment, etc. The main level houses a vast assortment of photos, jewellery, furniture, an old organ, while upstairs showcases a very strange looking apparatus - an original hairdressing item - a "permanent" machine for giving women...
