We spent one night of pure relaxation and comfort. Our innkeepers made us delicious gourmet type meals keeping in mind food preferences and also including tastes of traditional local fare. The island has around 30,000 ( I believe) nesting seabirds. Due to nesting season, walking around on the island is extremely limited but we still enjoyed watching the seagulls behavior from a lovely covered patio type lookout which had Adirondack style chairs. There are a few staircases that need to be climbed to access the lighthouse itself where the sleeping quarters are, so keep that in mind if there are mobility limitations. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shared toilets are modern flush toilets and there is a shared shower. Everything was extremely clean. The views are amazing. One night was plenty for us, perhaps two if in the season when the island can be accessed/ walked.

Imagine sleeping in a 150 year old light house, with all the history and mystique of the old navigators of the StLawrence all around you. Take a stroll along the shoreline to see the birds, the stones carved by waves, and the seals jumping. Wake up to see the beluga whales frolicking just offshore, and add to that superb food, friendly staff, and all this on an island which you share with only 5 other people... Then realize that the whole point of the site is to fund nature conservancy. What more could you want? I would like to add a 6th star :)

This is an overnight at a lighthouse on an island in the middle of the St. Lawrence river. It has 3 rooms, so it is small and intimate. It is very special due to the exclusivity, charm of the lighthouse, wilderness area of the island and best of all 5 * gourmet meals for dinner and breakfast. It is pricey, but well worth it. To wander the uninhabited island and just hear birds, to see the beautiful views from all directions, to relax in the ambiance of the lighthouse make this a one in a lifetime experience. And the meals--unbelievable. You won't find better at any top restaurant in the world.
Bring your own wine, make it two bottles, the meal is long and luxurious.
The only thing I might advise the staff to do is to provide a small written history in English of the island and lighthouse since the guides are French speaking only. It didn't bother us, but would have been a nice addition to the stay. They could just have the information in a booklet in the lighthouse for those interested.
Highly recommend this overnight.

A must for all romantic adventurous people. The food, the staff, the atmosphere made so it was one of the best nights of our holiday. Even if we so happened to be there during Hurricane Irene. The best place to disconnect from daily routine and totally reconnect with your partner.
