Stayed there a couple of times a couple of years back in a travel trailer. Nice smaller park with lots of shade. We prefer private campgrounds that have full service lots as it is easier for longer stays.

Great park! I have been to much larger ones, but this small park with 100 campsite was quite the surprise. Less people in general, great sized beach. Play ground at beach for kids. Washrooms were clean. Campsite sizes were large. Water was warm, clear, sandy.

A small park by Ontario standards, this is still nice with a decent waterfront on Lake Simcoe and a small beach. The beach is evidently not natural, as the sand has been imported, but it feels in place. There are also a couple of short...More

What an amazing beach. Lots of sand and grass. The water is clear and just the right temperature. We went during the week so it wasn't super busy. Would definitely go back.

The good: The beach Close to stores for supplies The bad: Muddy camp sites Mosquitos are huge! The beach was nice but the weather for Canada Day was poor so we couldn't use it. We did not try the trail as the mosquitos were everywhere...More

Mara Provincial Park is close to Orillia at the north end of Lake Simcoe on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Most of the campsites are large and many are grassed, with moderate to full shade. With the lovely canopy of trees, it's a great spot in hot...More

We recently moved around the corner. Did not even know about the park. Took our bikes and travelled through. We were pleasantly surprised. The beach was large and the water clear. The camping area was filled. Certainly seemed a favourite spot. Going back this summer...More

No. The water is too shallow along the entire shoreline of the park. However, there are some good boat launch locations near the park.
