I grew up in a farm above this village and although I don’t live in Spain anymore, I heard that they had started working on the castle. It’s finally open to the public! Only 30% of it has been restored so far, but it really is worth the visit. The guide knows a lot about the area and answered all our questions thoughtfully. It is one of the only moorish castles left (well, apart from the Alhambra of course) standing in this area. Right now, you have to go to the Oficina de Turismo to let them know you would like to visit the castle. It is located on Avenida San Rogelio across from Bar El Molino. Then they will send you to the castle’s entrance to wait for the guide. There is no phone number to call, hopefully in the near future you will be able to call ahead.
