One of my favorites places to go to star gaze, watch meteor showers, meditate, etc. Has a pretty great view of the Rocky Mountains from the top, painted and drawn them from up there before. Just a chillin place in general :) definitely recommend. Easy to climb. But please be respectful of the land and gem itself, as it has... More

A great place to stop and stretch your legs during a long journey. I wouldn't cross over the simple fence surrounding the rock, since some pieces look ready to fall off! :) Read about this rock and how it was deposited in this field and go away a wiser person!

Giant rocks carried by a glacier for hundreds of kilometres to its final resting place. Nice place to take pictures or see the Milky Way.

Good parking off the highway with pit toilets, good view of the Rockies and a pleasant walk across the fields to walk around the Big Rocks (there are two). Recently concrete ramps and stairs from the parking lot have made the walk wheelchair accessible. Popular with local climbers to practice bouldering, but no risk involved in walking around.

These rocks were deposited here from the ice age and came all the way from the Jasper area. It is a great place to relax but there nothing else there. Glad that we stopped and took a few photos but been there done that. The mountains are covered with snow right now so the view is wonderful. It is free... More

Out in the middle of a field lays a prehistoric rock that floated there through the ice ages. Pretty neat little roadside attraction

If you are in the area which takes it's name from the rock, (Okotoks, Indian name for Big Rock),by all means go see it, it is rather odd to see a huge boulder in the middle of a prairie but once you see it, well..... you've seen it.

Really cool rocks - 9 meters high. You're able to walk between them. The view of the mountains in the distance makes a beautiful contrast to the erratic

While visiting Okotoks, our GPS pointed at this attraction so we decided to go. It was off our course of travel but wanted to see that. The location is very nice & it is really worth if you are going to spend a day out. if you are passing by & you have nothing on you like outdoor chairs, food... More
