First time out here. It's a nice flat walk. Easy for families even with a stroller. The canyon views and tunnels are amazing. I recommend bringing a flashlight or head lamp. Parking can be tricky so going early is best.

The tunnels were recommended by the server at Rolleys restaurant. There is a large parking area when we started to walk down to the tunnels there was a sign to make us aware there was a cougar in the area which kept us extra vigilant....More

The signs about the history was very interesting. Short walk through the forest along a river to get to the tunnels. Tunnels aren't too dark, they can be done without flashlights. On the bridges and areas between the tunnels has wonderful views of the river....More

My husband and I drove out to Hope to see the tunnels. We took our dog for a walk through these amazing old structures. The views were breathtaking and well worth seeing.

The Othello Tunnels are a remnant of the first railroad from Coast to Coast, and they were named by someone who loved Shakespeare--there's also a Juliet and a Romeo whistle stop, but it's the Othello Tunnels that are spectacular. The tracks are long gone and...More

Wonderful place for a walk when the weather is hot. The tunnels are cool and the views are stunning. Keep valuables out of sight when you park your car though!

Interesting place to visit. It usually open on May, when the weather is better. There is a river, and you can refresh there, althouhgn it is not permitted to swim.

The tunnels are 'officially' closed for the winter (not sure of the exact months) but if you're adventurous, the left side of the first gate has a fairly easy climb around (done it).

Yes this is a gentle walk, the terrain can be a bit rough just loose gravel, probably easier with a stroller than a regular wheelchair... it is also quite dark in one of the tunnels!
