If you are a history buff and like reading a lot of content the history exhibit is for you. Two changing art galleries highlight local artists.

We stopped here on a Saturday in September. Unfortunately there was another event going on offsite that required the museum to close the history part of the exhibits. We were only able to visit the two small galleries. However it was a well presented display of art.

I spent a while here (my ancestors were from the area) so very intersting. A good way to spend an hour or two!

This museum provided an excellent overview of the people and circumstances that built Nelson into the city it is today. Exhibits were well-presented and interesting. As a bonus, there are two areas with changing art exhibits included in your (very reasonable) admission fee.

Very knowledgable about the history of Nelson, we enjoyed it a lot. The art exhibits, in my opinion were lame and not worth the time to look at them.

The day I visited the Touchstones Museum there were two excellent exhibitions being hosted. In the main floors gallery a local artist, Lou Lynn, was exhibiting a brilliant show of sculptural glass and bronze pieces. In the upper gallery there was a permanent historical exhibition on Nelson and region. A great way to start a visit to the city.

Can't say it's a bad museum per say, but I would have liked it to be more interactive. It wasn't my favourite, but it was a great way to spend about an hour I guess. Overal my group liked it, but it was not my personal favourite.

I only had about 30 minutes on my hands but my quick visit to Touchstones was worth the $8 admission. The combination of art gallery and museum means that there are offerings for different tastes and the quality of both the museum and gallery was very high for a small museum. The primary exhibit in the art gallery space was... More

There are two floors, elevator in the lobby. The first floor has a gift store and several rooms set up as an art gallery. Art to me may not appeal to you, so all I will say that there is variety. Upstairs was the museum part and I was lost to time. There was a room with short movies that... More

I was fascinated by the displays, movies, and facts that I learned at the museum. On top of the museum the gallery always has very unique and enticing art. The staff are also very genuine, kind, and welcoming.
