Housed in a wonderful heritage building, Touchstones offers a gift shop filled with fine locally made arts and crafts. The exhibits are always interesting and well put together, and staff are friendly and helpful. If you're visiting Nelson, it needs to be on your agenda.

Got rained out of skiing so wandered around Nelson. Fun town. Great restaurants. Stumbled across this Museum. Very informative. Lovely gift shop. Great way to spend an afternoon.

We really enjoyed this museum. It is small and well-done. Good for an hour or two of local history and two local artist exhibits.

If you are a history buff and like reading a lot of content the history exhibit is for you. Two changing art galleries highlight local artists.

This museum provided an excellent overview of the people and circumstances that built Nelson into the city it is today. Exhibits were well-presented and interesting. As a bonus, there are two areas with changing art exhibits included in your (very reasonable) admission fee.

Very knowledgable about the history of Nelson, we enjoyed it a lot. The art exhibits, in my opinion were lame and not worth the time to look at them.

The day I visited the Touchstones Museum there were two excellent exhibitions being hosted. In the main floors gallery a local artist, Lou Lynn, was exhibiting a brilliant show of sculptural glass and bronze pieces. In the upper gallery there was a permanent historical exhibition...More

Can't say it's a bad museum per say, but I would have liked it to be more interactive. It wasn't my favourite, but it was a great way to spend about an hour I guess. Overal my group liked it, but it was not my...More
