My own home town is a tourist town and I can't help but make comparisons. Baker Street has nearly no vacant buildings along the strip, and all the shops are classy, as are the restaurants. Not to say it's snobby, because it's a super-friendly town....More

Thanks to the internet and online shopping I no longer have to deal with Baker Street. It's a complete cluster of clueless pedestrians, drivers and vagrants.

A must visit when in Nelson. Fantastic shops and a great variety of them as well. Only drawback is the amount of peddling on the street however they are certainly not bothersome.

Very vibrant historical area with lots of places to shop and eat. Didnt enjoy all the vagrants laying on the streets asking for money though

Lovely heritage town that has maintained its vibrant downtown. Great food local brew and great selection of shops for the size of this little city. The street people are often interesting. There is quite a bit of begging and some sketchy folk in the evenings

Good variety of stores. A bit over priced? Possibly? Enjoyed looking at the old buildings, people watching, was worth the visit.

Baker Street is the main street and historic centre of the town. There are lots of interesting shops and places to eat, all within a short walking distance.

Fun walk up and down, the people along the streets can be a bit scary looking but everyone is extremely friendly! The shops are definitely unique and each one is pretty different.

You could spend a couple of days poking through all the shops on Baker Street and enjoying the coffee shops and pubs. Lots of unique stores: book stores, fashion, sports, beautiful crafts and souvenirs... take your pick!

Several businesses were closed on Sunday. It's definitely not the best day for a full shopping experience.
