A little warm today at 32 degrees but when you walk on the shady side of the street it's wonderful. Mind you if you do walk on the shady side you will miss a whole stack of lovely and interesting shops. It was market day...More

Although Nelson is a relatively small city, it has really great shopping. It seems like there are a lot of independent stores and unique items. And the people-watching can't be beat!

Baker St. is the main street in Nelson BC. On the positive side we find there are a lot of interesting stores with lots of very good restaurants. I have yet to find a poor one. The only problem is the very healthy, aggressive beggars...More

This is Nelson's main street. I found the shops just a little uninteresting. Plenty of eating establishments

We arrived later afternoon so all the shops we're closed by 5 pm!! Did a little browsing in the a.m., couldn't find any shop with a Nelson t shirt, but found other trinkets. Love the old buildings!!

Downtown Nelson is how downtown should be! A variety of interesting shops, and lots of restaurants to choose from, in a lovely setting. Not just souvenir shops (like Banff), but actual good shopping. The only downside is lack of parking.

Nelson has done what soooo many towns have failed to do - keep their downtown beautiful and thriving. There are plenty of tourists around, but locals keep it going with restaurants, shops and plenty to do. Love this town.

Good selection of shops, restaurants, businesses along Baker st. Wide sidewalks both sides of the street. Nice hanging baskets & planters help beautify this main street in Nelson. Like how some restaurants have patios that jut out onto the street. Very bike & motorcycle friendly...More

Several businesses were closed on Sunday. It's definitely not the best day for a full shopping experience.
