My own home town is a tourist town and I can't help but make comparisons. Baker Street has nearly no vacant buildings along the strip, and all the shops are classy, as are the restaurants. Not to say it's snobby, because it's a super-friendly town....More

Thanks to the internet and online shopping I no longer have to deal with Baker Street. It's a complete cluster of clueless pedestrians, drivers and vagrants.

There is more to Nelson than Baker Street. But it is the heart of this delightful Kootenay's city. Lots of interesting shops, cafes, and not one international chain. The street was closed off for a custom car rally which was great fun...lots of vehicles from...More

Part of Nelson's charm comes from it's unique shops. Many businesses are only in Nelson and are wonderful because they are one and only stores.

A great street to enjoy historic buildings with incredible stores and restaurants to ensure you don’t go hungry while buying cool stuff we don’t find at home.

I walked baker street and there are many shops that are interesting. There are 2nd hand ships on Baker too. There are also a lot of restaurants that offer quite a variety. The bakery offered gluten free, vegetarian, and regular food. It was very good.

Several businesses were closed on Sunday. It's definitely not the best day for a full shopping experience.
