The gorge and falls in this park are very scenic but when the salmon are running up the river it is truly a natural wonder. Imagine a ferocious water fall and rapids with salmon leaping high out of the water in their attempts to make it up river to spawn, while hundreds more mass at the bottom waiting to make... More

This was one of our favourite places to be. Stamp River Falls were amazing. Tons of salmon and one lone bear looking for them. Easy walk. Would go again and again.

This is totally worth the drive! We saw quantities of salmon unlike anything we'd ever seen before. We met people who explained to us that the run was very small compared to other years. I can't even imagine what that would look like. The walk to the falls is very easy.

Fun falls, saw the salmon jumping, and saw a black bear taking a rest after catching and eating salmon. Not too strenuous walk. And a big screen with cameras in the fish ladder to watch the salmon up close.

Watched the salmon ladder. It was an amazing experience. Hundreds of salmon make their way up the ladder. The a couple of viewing points a short walk along the river. Take this walk and view the path the salmon take as they make their way up. The directions for reaching the park are not the easiest with GPS. it is... More

It is a lovely place for hiking as well as admiring jumping salmons. The park does not offer too much signage and we had a very hard time to find the main entrance. Once you are at the park you will enjoy a beautiful scenery and crystal clear water loaded with salmons making their way up. We were there at... More

The falls are quite a drive (10 miles) from town and you might think you are lost, but this means you are probably on the right road - no signage to help you. The falls are not that spectacular, but the fish ladder which has been built by the national parks is really interesting. Apparently the salmon have trouble swimming... More

Our prime reason for visiting this park was to view the fish ladders. As you walk to the end of the trail, a large calm spot in the river contained hundreds of very large salmon. Although the fish were interesting to watch, the interpretive signs were inadequate to explain the fish ladders and the life cycles of salmon species.

A very pretty area , with some lovely shady walks past the fish ladder with numerous river pools for hot summer days dips.

We spent a wonderful day on the river. We drove to the rod and gun range. You have to sign in if you are floating on the river so someone knows if you made it out safe. It was great. The river takes you down to the papermill where you get out. We had two vehicles. Parked one at the... More
