We enjoyed the Railroad Museum, it is very well done. There are a couple of feature short movies to watch that are worth taking time for. The miniature displays are quite remarkable and very intricate. Take the time to check this place out, it is...More

We were impressed with the amount of excellent information about railroading and the coach car and steam engine displays. I learned a great deal about how a railroad through the mountains is surveyed and constructed.

The Railway Museum is full of information, we learnt a lot about the challenges and hardships of building a railway through the mountains. There is also and amazing model railway built by enthusiasts. There were some outside exhibits.....but it was raining, they looked good through...More

This was an experience we enjoyed immensely on a wet day in Revelstoke. The detailed history of how the railway came to the West Coast is most interesting.

We stopped and paid $8 each (Senior Rate) to tour the museum. It was interesting and only takes about an hour. The model trains on the second level were good. Going through the old dining/sleeper car was very interesting. Free Parking.

This is a fairly small museum right in downtown Revelstoke. Free Parking is available. Allow about 1 hour to see everything, but maybe longer if you are a rail buff who needs to see "everything". There is quite a bit on Roger's Pass and the...More

A small but well priced trip into the history of how the west coast met east coast via the building of the trans-Canada Canadian Pacific railroad. In fact you have to cross the current railroad to get to it in the centre of Revelstoke which...More

A very nice museum with a lot of information about the railway history... a self-guided museum with train cars you can go in and also a train simulator and a yard with train cars to see.

This is a small museum which tells something of the story of the building of the railway through the Rocky Mountains. The highlights are certainly the restored sleeper car and the VERY large engine. You can walk through the sleeper car but not the engine.

We recommend at least an hour but it can take up to 2 hours, or more, if you take in all the exhibits, ride the simulator, talk to an engineer, and watch the film in the theatre. You can also bring a picnic lunch and enjoy... More
