Interestingly we were held up by the Canadian Pacific Train which is 2.5 miles long before we could cross over the tracks to reach the museum. The display of the huge engines is very interesting and there are some older examples outside the large indoor...More

Excellent locomotive to view and some nice exhibits, the Golden Spike was laid just East of Revelstoke so there is real feeling of history attached to the Museum.

While overnighting in Revelstoke we were looking for something to do as it was raining, by recommendation we visited this little museum. Parking was free and admission $10 a person, very reasonable for everything we seen. The museum explains the extensive history of trains in...More

A brilliant museum to visit especially if you are a train geek like my girlfriend. This visit earned me many many brownie points. Jokes aside an excellent museum full to the brim with history and information.

This world class train museum is located in downtown Revelstoke along Victoria road. Many classic train cars and engines and offers a very good history review of the challenges of building a railroad through British Columbia.

We were impressed with the amount of excellent information about railroading and the coach car and steam engine displays. I learned a great deal about how a railroad through the mountains is surveyed and constructed.
