We went to the dam to kill time before checking in to our accommodation, and to get out of the rain. It turned out to be quite an interesting stop. Our three kids loved the amazing views and the interactive displays in the visitor centre. We took some stunning photos too. Worth a visit, especially on a rainy afternoon.

Not to my personal interest but my engineer husband and children loved this. Of note, you will require ID to get past security or you will be turned away.

My husband found this place online and I had no idea what I was in for! At first being afraid of heights I was greatly intimidated by it - but so very glad I went inside and up the elevator! The history behind it is great and the technology is super neat! Overall very interesting and great value for the... More

The Visitor Centre has displays that explain the history of indigenous people in the area as well as the history of this dam project. You can take an elevator to the top of the dam as well as look into power house itself. Actually, the centre and its park lot sit atop the power house. Interesting hands on demonstrations about... I was simple awestruck by the size and beauty of the Revelstoke Dam. The individuals at the visitor center were very friendly and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. You should definitely put this on the list of things to see.

We spent an interesting time here. It was very good value and included a guided tour. There is a very good video showing how the dam was built. You are able to go up to a lookout gantry and see the dam from the top. Has a great interactive area for young and old. Well worth a visit.

As you pull into the parking lot, the Revelstoke Dam rises over 450 meters above you. One can't help be feel like you are on the set of a James Bond or Bourne Film Location. A remarkable man made achievement that is definitely worth a visit to learn about how the Columbia River was harnessed.
