Hiking the Stawamus Chief was a challenge. Toronto has no mountains so others who are from an environment of peaks may find this hike an easy to moderate level. Rising 702 m or 2300 ft you will face steep terrain, steep steps, ladders, and chains...More

It's a great view at the top of any of the 3 peaks. If you've got short legs, it's challenging going up and coming back down the tall stairs and big rocks.

There are three peaks, and depending on personal hiking and climbing capabilities, there is a peak suitable for experienced hikers. The view at the top is completely worth it.

We hiked to Peak 2, which, as others have noted, is a steep hike up a trail that includes chain ropes and lots of stairs. Probably not well suited for people with mobility problems. This is a very popular hike, though, so if you're seeking...More

As rock climbers we nailed this sucker twice last week. Once on the Apron Side via the 17 pitch Slab Alley (5.8)/Broomstick Crack (5.7)/Squamish Buttress (5.10c)/Joe's Duke (5.7) to top out on the First Chief after 7h. All the pitches except one were below 5.10...More

Lengthy hike with a ton of variation and rest spots. Some parts near the summit contain ropes and ladders and the peak offers clear, breathtaking views of Canada's outdoor recreation capital. Great hike for all ages and the cute chipmunks at the top will take...More

The hike was too much for me and I wont do it again but if you like a million steps and dont mind doing that then you will be fine. I almost gave up a quarter of the way in, my legs and knees were...More

This is a gruelling hike up, but the view is definitely worth the sweat. The hike is through the woods right until the very top, so there are very few view points, but at least you aren't hiking in the sun. The trail to the...More

We went to Stawamus Chief Park. . This is a good park for rock climbers as well as hikers. It is along the Sea to Sky Highway.

Semi challenging push up, but it's so worth it. Easy trail navigation. Not for the faint of heart. Beautiful views. Ladders and chain grabs kept it interesting. The stairs going up were well done. I don't think I'd take the gondola unless unhealthy enough to...More
