great photo stop on the side of the highway. reading the signs it seems there are some artificial reefs of the shore for the diving enthusiasts.

This is a nice rock beach & simple campground with toilets, an outdoor shower (mostly used by divers), and calm water. I spent the day floating on a floatie and thanks to stairs leading right to the water/beach, I got out with no trouble. It's pretty cold water, but people do swim there and it's very popular with divers due to several wrecks. Paddleboards and kayaks are also popular. You can see seals & birds or if you dive, see lingcod, octopus, nudibranch, etc. Get there early as it is a very small parking lot and a popular place.

We stopped by this place on our way to Squamish. We saw quite a number of people swimming, snorkeling and even scuba diving. I was impressed to know that its coral reefs were just artificially made. Today they offer fish and other marine creatures a safe refuge. The surrounding views are also spectacular! The mountains reflected on the waters create an idyllic scene!

Porteau Cove is a great campsite just off the Sea to Sky highway. We stayed in site 32 which we found perfect. It was large with a view of the water while still having some greenery so our site wasn't completely exposed to people walking on the shore line. The bathrooms were always very clean and fully stocked.
The park was sold out when we visit but it didn't feel crowded with people, I think because the shore line is so big that there is very little overlap between groups. We did find ourselves a little area by the look out trail that was out of the wind and enjoyed some time there and to our surprise nobody else was around.
Beware the racoons are very bold! We were around the fire and the racoons were taking a walk through our site no problem.

Stumbled across this park on our way back from Whistler. It was a “quick” decision to stop and it was incredible. You could hear the seals way at the end of the pier. There were 2 people kayaking, the mountains were just stunning.

One of my favourite places along the coast with the mountains in the background and ocean foreground. Very pretty and easy to turn into from the highway. Beautiful place or a picnic and also able to see black oystercatchers at the nearby beach areas.

We are another family who had a terrible experience with the park staff here. Two families camping together in 2018. First night was fine. Second night we are all asleep in out tents and around midnight are yelled at with lights in our faces and dragged out of our tents because there was one empty can and one factory sealed bottle of baileys on our table. It had been dark and we were focused on making sure all food and dishes were gone and we just missed these two items. My daughter was so scared and we were very upset- I explained to them that we cleaned the same way the night before and we’re not told there was a problem. I suggested a walk around at 10pm after quiet time starts would be more appropriate for reminding guests about their very specific policies. They said they had to wait until were were asleep to make sure we had left it out! I am a long time park camper and never experienced this before. Myself and my friend from the other family went to gatehouse next day to very respectfully talk to the supervisor who instead threatened us for complaining. Stating we were given a warning and he could make it an eviction. We were not rude or aggressive and did not deserve to be treated this way for respectfully lodging a complaint against staff behaviour. Distinct feeling of power tripping and bullying here. We haven’t been back. It was an extremely negative experience in a very beautiful park.

Such a pretty spot to camp but super hard to get a spot for overnight. You could go down for the day on your way to Whistler. Makes you feel like you are enjoying the Caribbean as the water is aqua in colour. .
Each site is well spaced for social distancing. Lots of kids and families of all ages.

Nice spot to stop for a washroom break, swim, picnic, or just some great views. There are some lookout points as well. Beautiful BC!
