We were in Muskoka for a family trip and looked for places to visit. This came up as the top choice so we had to see it. With the fall colors, it’s a beautiful drive just getting to Sugarbush. We pulled in to be escorted to our parking spot by Brewster, the most lovable and gentle dog. Visiting during a pandemic meant that we could only see a little bit of the store but Tom and Eva were incredibly welcoming and shared their amazing stories of how Sugarbush came to be - as well as how they met and built this amazing dream business together. They are both remarkable people who have accomplished so much.
Though we couldn’t tour inside, we were able to hike through their endless acres of land and see how the tubes of syrup were all connected. Brewster led the way of course. When we returned to the store, our little 3 year old got one of the famous maple syrup ice cream servings. There wasn’t even a drop left for us to try! This is definitely a unique ice cream that’s hard to find or replicate anywhere else.
Finally, the syrup. Our family enjoys maple syrup and usually get it from our local grocery store. I have never, ever tasted syrup that was so thick, pure and rich with flavour. I can understand why people drive up from the city for bottles of this syrup. This is the premium stuff that you stash away for special occasions or give to people you really, really like!
We will definitely be back to visit and when we can’t come in person, we’ll be ordering more syrup. This beautiful place lives up to its top rating and is completely worth your time to visit.

My husband and I just had a tour here and it was excellent! The owners are very nice and personable. We learned a lot about the history of maple syrup and how it was made, and we learned how overtime the process changed. Then we were able to see how it is made now and, and we hiked through the woods to see the maple trees up close. At the end we got to try two different kinds of syrup- both were excellent! And my husband tried the maple ice cream and he LOVED it! I would definitely recommend this wonderful experience!

The maple ice cream was a so delicious and creamy we had to come back for a second helping the next day! Be sure to allow time for a tour (approx. 1 hour). Tom does an excellent job describing the old and new ways of making maple syrup…and the tour includes a taste test..YUM!!

Finally found the best dark maple syrup ever! We try maple syrups from many areas and one day while driving around the port Sydney area we happened upon sugarbush hill maple farm and so glad we did. Tom and Eva are such a wonderful friendly couple with a passion for this amazing maple syrup. We also tried the maple ice cream which is the best soft ice cream we have ever enjoyed. The first time we purchased the jug of dark syrup and later when we tried it we were delighted to find it was a delicious THICK dark syrup like none we have tasted before. We use it in coffe, on pancakes, ice cream, amd when added in homemade apple pie,oh my! It is soooo amazing that we used up the jug in no time. So the second time we were in the area (just a few weeks later) we made sure to stop by again and not only did we get another jug but we bought many gift bottles of the dark syrup for friends and family to enjoy along with maple mustard, maple candy and more. A few weeks later we were travelling with our elderly friends and mentioned that we knew a great place for maple syrup and ice cream. This couple are 90 and 87 and this time we had the cream with the ‘crown’. Which is just a little more$ but oooohhhh so special maple topping on the ice cream. They (and us) thought it was the best ice cream they have ever had. Don’t miss out on this special treat! And of course we bought another jug. We will be going up again soon to stock up for winter with a few more jugs of liquid delight...worth the 2 hour drive!!! If you find this amazing place say hi to Tom and Eva and tell them Tony and Brenda sent you😋 you will be so glad you went. Please check when they will shut down for winter.

To really experience a back to nature this is exceptional. To take a walk through the woods and see the maple taps was so natural. The homely feel to the place and with real warmth from the owners. To see this real ‘cottage industry’ creating really authentic maple syrup products, and the ice cream was amazing was just wonderful. Thank you for letting us into your life and hope you continue for many years

Although we were visiting on Sunday (there was no scheduled tour) we were allowed to take a walk through the Aronwald and ask Tom all our questions about the history, profit and production of maple syrup. We were also warmly greeted by Mr. Meet&Greet Boomer. We had a great time at Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm! Many many thanks!!!
PS: you have to try the maple syrup ice cream, wow!

We’re staying in Muskoka for our summer holiday (we live in London normally).
My wife noticed this tour, and as we love maple syrup, we booked places … and really enjoyed the trip.
Tom is an excellent story-teller —- and is living his ‘purpose’ as a Maple Syrup producer, after a career working at Air Canada. His establishment is very impressive, and you can hike around the his forest of Red Maple trees.
We bought some amber maple syrup (which is absolutely delicious) and also enjoyed some ice-cream on the premise too.

Originally from Montreal I visited Sugarbush Hill maple farm several weeks ago. I purchased a bottle of maple syrup and a vegetarian chilli and must say that I have never had a more delicious tasting maple syrup in my 72 years. Tom and his wife Eva run the farm and he told me how good his syrup was and it truly was. Eva‘s chilli was also really delicious. Thank you! Robert Mayoff.

The maple soft ice cream! Never had it before and they are the only ones that do. Worth the trip to Huntsville! Because of Covid19 we couldn't do a tour or go in the store but were able to make purchases and of course get that wonderful ice cream! A must visit place for any travelers. The greeting committee was wonderful their dog and cat.

Hi
There is no entrance fee, if we are producing the sugarhouse tours are postphoned. You can view from the maple observation deck. The best would be to call in the morning around 9 a.m. to see whats going on. A lot depends on the weather and temps.
Thanks for the question and your interest in Sugarbush Hill.
